Laney L20H-PK Lionheart Head and LT212 Cabinet

Bought the amp head and 2 x 12 inch paired cabinet combination after playing on many different amps, looking for something to use at home with the ability to work also in smaller venues. In particular, found it to be very smooth and creamy in the clean mode retaining this clarity throughout the volume range with the dedicated clean channel. When switched across to the dirty channel, there is a high degree of control allowing that ability to transition from mild, creamy (word chosen carefully) to fairly heavy crunchy distortion. However, if you are a real metal head, it probably doesn't deliver full on death metal like distortion. Importantly, it manages this at low volumes, seeming to make little difference in what can be achieved in the tone while not driving the tubes hard. Interestingly the head has a low and high input jacks. Using the Low input (less boost (50%) pre-amp as I understand it) means that the tubes can be pushed harder whilst keeping low volume. At home this is what I use most.
I play either an Ibanez Artcore hollow-body jazz guitar or a Paul Reed Smith Custom 22. through the amp and find it works well with both quitars.
